Safety Features on the Hummer EV SUV Power Swing Gate

I think it’s awesome that the Hummer EV SUV comes with a power swing gate, but it got me wondering: is it “smart” in any way? Like, if there’s a wall or another car right behind it, will it only open as far as needed, or does it go full-swing regardless?

I could totally see a situation where you walk up, hit the remote to open it, and then realize too late that there’s barely any room behind the SUV. I assume it has some safety feature to prevent damage, maybe force feedback if it encounters an obstacle? Would be great to hear if anyone has tried this out or knows how the gate handles in tight spots!
