I’m facing an issue with my Hummer EV’s infotainment screen, and I’m hoping someone here can help or share their experience. The touch screen is completely unresponsive and displays a “THEFT LOCKED” message. It happened right after the alarm went off, and ever since, the screen won’t reset or respond to any touch. I’ve already tried holding down the end call button to reset it, but no luck.

I’ve taken the vehicle to the dealer twice now, and unfortunately, they haven’t been able to resolve the issue. It’s pretty frustrating since I rely on the infotainment system for so many functions while driving.

Has anyone else encountered this “THEFT LOCKED” message on their Hummer EV? If you’ve had this issue and managed to get it fixed, I’d really appreciate it if you could share what worked for you. 🙏

I haven’t personally dealt with that exact issue, but I know the “THEFT LOCKED” is often linked to security features kicking in after an alarm. You can try disconnecting the battery for a few hours.

Try this video, my friend!

That "THEFT LOCKED" message on your Hummer EV's infotainment screen, especially after the alarm went off, is definitely a serious issue! and it's concerning that the dealer hasn't been able to fix it after two attempts. It points to a potential problem with the security system or the communication between the various modules.

Do not attempt to tamper with the security or infotainment systems yourself unless you have extensive experience with automotive electronics. Doing so could void your warranty or cause further damage.

That sounds like the security system's gone a bit haywire, probably from the alarm. I'm surprised the hard reset didn't fix it. Have you tried pulling the battery cables for a bit, like a full power cycle? If that doesn't do it, it might be a software thing, like it needs an update or a reflash. If that doesn't work, I'm officially stumped! Fingers crossed someone else here has seen this and knows what to do.
