Got any tips for blacking out my spare tire cover?

I’m always looking for ways to make my Hummer EV SUV look super aggressive! This time around, I’m thinking about giving my spare tire carrier cover a slick black paint job. Anyone else tried this? How’d you tackle it? Got any favorite spray paint recos? Let me know!

I used this SEM 39143, Original Trim Black, and totally loved it!

Nice! Did you do any prep work before painting, like using a primer or anything, or just went straight to the spray paint? just want to make sure it really sticks and looks super smooth!

Yup, I did a little prep work! Gave the surface a good scrub and lightly sanded it so the paint would actually stick. Then I slapped on some plastic primer before hitting it with the SEM spray. Seriously, it made such a difference in the finish!
