Hello! I am new to the forum and I am close to getting my first EV. It is a Hummer SUV edition 1. What charging options do I have for it, and does it come with a charger? I would appreciate any thoughts please.

Congrats! The Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 includes a Dual-Level Charge Cord for Level 1/2 charging and supports DC fast charging up to 300 kW.

Chargepoint is good but IMO, there are better ones for its price.

The app is mostly fine, but sometimes it loses connection and I have to restart the whole thing. And forget about customer support. I tried to get help once, and it was a total nightmare.

The worst part is you can only use one charger with your account. They said they'd fix that ages ago, but they still haven't.

It can charge pretty fast if you have the right setup. You might want to look into that.

It comes with a charger that plugs into both 110V and 220V outlets. But if you use the 110V one, it's gonna take forever to charge. Like, seriously, it could take a whole week to go from 20% to 80%. That's basically charging at one mile per hour.

If you use the 220V plug, it's much faster. That'll take about 17 hours for the same 20-80% charge.

But if you really want to speed things up, you need a dedicated 100-amp circuit and a hardwired 80-amp charger. Then, you can get that 20-80% charge in about 7 hours.

The 220V plug is a NEMA 14-50, btw...
