I’ve been hunting around for solid details on the Hummer EV SUV battery size, but keep finding mixed info. I know the Hummer EV Truck has a massive 246 kWh battery with around 212 kWh of usable capacity, giving it about 300-340 miles of range.

Now, I’ve read that the SUV model has a smaller battery pack, possibly around 170 kWh, but I can’t tell if that’s the total capacity or the usable capacity. Has anyone seen verified numbers on this? Would love to know for planning longer trips!

It looks like the Hummer EV has a battery around 170kWh, but we don't know the exact usable capacity yet. It should get around 250-300 miles of range. We'll have to wait for official numbers from GMC.

The Hummer EV SUV has a 20-module Ultium battery, with around 170 kWh total capacity. Though, GMC hasn’t confirmed the usable capacity, but it is certain that it is smaller than the truck’s 246.8 kWh (212.7 kWh usable). The SUV’s range is estimated at about 298 miles. Hope that helps!

Real talk: Is our power grid even ready for everyone driving electric cars? It's a valid question, right? I mean, I don't have a crystal ball or anything, but thinking about it... 24 kWh costing only around three bucks? That makes me feel a lot better about the whole thing. What do you think?

You're right, the truck's got that beastly 246 kWh pack but the SUV is definitely scaled down. the SUV's battery is indeed smaller but the exact usable capacity is where things get fuzzy. That 170 kWh figure you saw is likely closer to the total capacity but the usable portion is probably less to preserve battery longevity. Officially verified numbers are still a bit scarce and GM hasn't been super clear on the exact breakdown.
