My Hummer EV SUV should be here soon, and I'm a little worried about the weight. These things are massive, like 10,000 pounds. I'm wondering if anyone else is concerned about their driveway or garage cracking under the weight of the truck.

I've had mine for 3 or 4 months now parked on my concreate drive and in my garage and no cracking yet. Temps have ranged from +22c to -32c so far.

Concrete floors and driveways can usually handle a lot of weight, but it depends on things like how thick the slab is, the concrete quality, and the support underneath. It’s a good idea to call an engineer to make sure it meets the weight requirements. I just don’t want that to stop you from getting the Hummer!:)

The tire contact area looks like it’s doing a pretty solid job of spreading the weight evenly, so I wouldn’t stress about it being a problem. From what I’ve seen, no one’s even mentioned it being an issue.

That’s one massive beast you’ve got coming! Your driveway might need to start hitting the gym to handle that weight.😅 But seriously, most driveways can handle it, though if you're worried, a quick check with a contractor wouldn't hurt just to make sure your garage isn’t getting crushed

Totally get your concern! Most modern driveways and garages should handle the weight, but if yours is older or has any cracks, it might be worth having a pro check it out. Better to be safe
