Hey all!

I am going on a trip soon with my Hummer and I will be driving through some pretty hot areas. I am a bit worried about how the heat might affect EV's performance and battery life. I would appreciate some thoughts, please!

I’ve driven my Hummer in hot areas, and you are right the heat can affect battery performance and range. I will advice you keep an eye on the battery temperature, park in the shade when possible, and plan trips during cooler times of the day.

I'm getting about 1.6 miles per kwh, and I'm definitely making the most of that acceleration! Haven’t gone on a road trip yet, but I’m really looking forward to it. I’m from Phoenix btw.

Hot weather can impact battery performance, causing reduced range. Keep the car cool, park in shade, and monitor temperatures.

In hot weather, the Hummer EV might lose a bit of range because it uses more energy to keep the battery cool, especially if you’re using the AC a lot. But its cooling system is pretty solid, so it handles heat better than many other EVs. The drop in range isn’t usually that big of a deal

Heat can drain your battery faster, but your Hummer’s got cooling to help. Just park in the shade, don’t blast the AC too much, and plan your charging stops. Stay cool, both you and the battery;)
