I learned the hard way that my 24" floor jack couldn’t lift the Hummer EV enough to remove the tires. I had to use the LCA to lift it instead. Usually, I’ve seen people lift from the axle as another point, would that work here too?

I wouldn't recommend it. Many don't recommend it. You have the battery and other components there. You don't want any damage.

No, lifting from the axle wouldn’t work for the Hummer EV.
Unlike traditional ICE vehicles, the Hummer EV has independent suspension and no solid rear axle.

The visible “axles” are drive shafts, which aren’t designed to support weight and could be damaged if used as jacking points. You have the manual. Stick to its recommendations. Friendly advice.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I’ll follow the manual and avoid using the drive shafts for lifting.

Hey! You might want to look into using a taller lift jack for more clearance, or even invest in a hydraulic lift designed for heavier vehicles, which would provide better reach and stability. Hope this helps!

A taller jack or hydraulic lift sounds like a great idea for the Hummer EV’s weight. I’ll consider it
